Traditional Reflexology

Initial Consultation & treatment: €60 80 mins

Follow up session: €60 60 mins

Reflexology is a holistic therapy that involves applying pressure to specific points on the feet or hands to stimulate a healing response in corresponding organs, glands and systems of the body. By stimulating these areas of the body that are connected to the body’s energy pathways, we kick start the self healing process of the body to promote relaxation, bring the various system’s back into balance and support overall well-being.

I am a member of the NRRI (nationalreflexology.ie) which regulates Reflexology in Ireland and is accredited by various Irish health insurance companies.

Some of the benefits of Reflexology are:

  • Stress and anxiety reduction
  • Relaxation, physically, emotionally and mentally
  • Managing symptoms of hormonal unbalances in particular relating to menstruation, fertility and menopause
  • Improved blood circulation
  • Pain management
  • Enhanced energy levels
  • Reducing levels of fatigue and supporting better sleep
  • Improvement of Digestive Issues

During a reflexology session, I use my fingers or thumbs to apply precise pressure and massage techniques to the reflex points. This pressure is believed to stimulate the flow of energy and help the body's natural healing processes. Reflexology is often used as a complementary therapy to encourage relaxation, reduce stress, improve circulation, and alleviate certain ailments.

I trained in the traditional Eunice Ingham method of Reflexology in 2010. She is classed as the ‘Mother of Reflexology’ due to her pivotal role in mapping out the relax zones on the feet which correspond to different organs and systems in the body. I have also trained in Tony Porters, Advanced Reflexology Techniques (A.R.T.).

Integrating Reiki with reflexology can enhance the overall holistic experience. Reiki, a form of Japanese energy healing, aims to balance the body's energy. I find that combining these practices in a session allows my client to experience a deeper sense of relaxation and well-being.

Reiki

I like to integrate Reiki into my Reflexology treatments to enhance the treatment. Reiki, a Japanese healing technique developed by Mikao Usui, is a holistic approach to well-being. Based on the belief that energy flows through all living things, Reiki aims to balance and harmonise this energy to promote healing. The word "Reiki" is a combination of two Japanese words: "rei," meaning universal, and "ki," meaning life energy. Disruptions in the flow of this life energy can lead to physical, emotional, or spiritual imbalances. Usui's teachings incorporated a holistic approach to healing, emphasising the connection between mind, body, and spirit.

Reiki may help with:

  • Stress Reduction and the release of tension.
  • Enhanced Well-Being and improved mood
  • Pain Management, complementing traditional pain management methods
  • Balanced Energy. Reiki fosters a sense of harmony within the body
  • Improved Sleep and quality of rest
  • Emotional healing
Reiki

During a Reiki session, hands are lightly placed on or just above the clients body, allowing the energy to flow through them. The intention is to stimulate the body's natural healing processes and restore balance. Reiki offers a gentle yet powerful approach to well-being, making it accessible to people of all ages, addressing the interconnectedness of the physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects of our being.

Usui developed the Five Reiki Principles, Five Reiki Affirmations, which serve as a guiding philosophy for Reiki practitioners:

  • Just for today, I will not be angry.
  • Just for today, I will not worry.
  • Just for today, I will be grateful.
  • Just for today, I will do my work honestly.
  • Just for today, I will be kind to every living thing.

Ayurvedic KV Foot Massage

Initial Consultation & treatment: €60 80 mins

Follow up session: €60 60 mins

The Ayurvedic Kansa Vatki foot massage is a traditional therapeutic technique that originates from Ayurveda, the ancient Indian system of holistic medicine. It involves using a small, dome-shaped tool made of Kansa metal (a blend of copper, tin and zinc) to gently massage and stimulate the soles, tops and sides of the feet as well as the calves and shins. This technique is believed to balance the body and is often accompanied by the use of oils to nourish the skin and further aid in relaxation. It can be a soothing and grounding experience, especially when seeking physical, emotional and mental body connection.

Ayurvedic KV foot massages may help with:

  • Detoxification
  • Improved Circulation
  • Relaxation and Stress Reduction
  • Grounding and Energising
  • Balance of Doshas: Ayurveda suggests that the use of Kansa metal helps balance the doshas—Vata, Pitta, and Kapha—contributing to overall wellbeing.

Depending on the clients needs, we often combine this treatment with reflexology to enhance the benefits.

Yoga

My yoga classes are a welcoming space for everyone, helping you to breathe deeper, learn how to move your body safely and to allow you to step away from the busy lives we all lead if only for a short while. My classes aren’t about being the most flexible, they’re about getting to know yourself more deeply on a physical, mental & emotional level… and also about having a bit of fun! As a mum of two, I understand how easy it is to lose ourselves and who we are in the world, my yoga classes allow us the space to prioritise ourselves, to create connections and to remember to not take yourself too seriously.

Yoga

Hatha / Vinyasa

I combine both Hatha and Vinyasa yoga in my classes depending on the energy of the room. Hatha yoga is often considered a foundational and gentle style of yoga. It focuses on physical postures (asanas) and breath control (pranayama). Hatha yoga classes typically involve holding poses for a longer duration, which helps improve strength, flexibility, and balance. It's a great choice for beginners as it provides a solid introduction to basic yoga postures and alignment principles. Vinyasa yoga, is a more dynamic and flowing style of yoga. It involves a series of poses that are linked together with breath in a continuous, fluid sequence. It is good to incorporate elements of both into your practice and recognise when your body is crying out for more flowing movement or when it would like to pause and settle into a pose.

My classes are suitable for women of all fitness levels and ages. Chat to me if you have any concerns or injuries.

Pranayama / Breathwork

Pranayama is a yogic practice that involves the regulation of breath to enhance physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. The term "pranayama" is derived from two Sanskrit words: "prana," meaning life force or vital energy, and "ayama," meaning control or expansion. Together, pranayama can be translated as the control or expansion of life force through breath.

It consists of various techniques aimed at regulating and extending the breath for specific purposes. Pranayama/breath work is an integral part of traditional yoga practices benefitting respiratory function, stress reduction, enhanced concentration, and a heightened sense of well-being. I integrate pranayama as well as my science based breath coaching learnings into all yoga sessions.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is mainly floor based and often using props such as bolsters, blankets, blocks. It is a slow-paced and gentle style of yoga that focuses on long-held, passive poses to target the connective tissues in the body, such as ligaments, tendons, fascia and bones. This practice is distinct from more dynamic and active forms of yoga, as it involves holding poses for an extended period of time, typically ranging from 1 to 5 minutes or more. The primary intention of Yin Yoga is to increase flexibility, improve joint mobility, promote relaxation, and cultivate a deep sense of mindfulness and introspection. It is a beautiful practice and often followed by a yoga nidra practice.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra, often referred to as "yogic sleep" or "dynamic sleep," is a form of guided meditation and relaxation that takes practitioners into a state of deep conscious relaxation. Despite the name, the goal of Yoga Nidra is not actually to induce sleep but rather to reach a state of profound relaxation while maintaining full awareness. I lead you through a guided meditation bringing awareness to different parts of the body, the breath and various sensory experiences. Some of the benefits include stress reduction, improved sleep, enhanced awareness, increased creativity and focus and emotional healing.

A session can last anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour and is often practiced alongside other forms of healing such as Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga or a Breath Work session. Yoga Nidra is accessible to people of all ages and fitness levels.

Chair Yoga

Chair yoga is a gentle form of yoga that is practiced sitting on a chair or using a chair for support. It's especially suitable for individuals with limited mobility or those who have difficulty getting down on the floor for traditional yoga poses. Chair yoga incorporates gentle stretches, breath awareness, and simple movements that promote flexibility, balance, and relaxation. It can help improve circulation, reduce stress, and increase overall body awareness. The practice typically involves modified yoga poses, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques, making it accessible to a wide range of people, including seniors and those recovering from injuries.

I provide classes on request for groups or individuals.

Community Lake Dips

Every Friday morning, a group of lovely ladies meet at Loughrea Lake, County Galway to brave dipping in the lake. Everyone is welcome, a lot of us do not/cannot swim but after a few minutes of a guided calming breath meditation, we walk slowly into the water and have a chat or sometimes a scream depending on how cold it is. Afterwards we warm up with a hot drink which is provided and get to know our fellow dippers a little better. It is a fantastic experience and sets you up for the day. There are many proven benefits to cold plunging, the big one for us is the sense of community and connection it provides.

Winter times are 9.30am every Friday and 7.30am during the Summer. All details are provided on my socials.
